Learn Bagpipes & Drums with Atlantic Watch Pipes & Drums No experience is necessary to learn the bagpipes or drums. Every member of Atlantic Watch Pipes & Drums started as a beginner. Pipers begin on a practice chanter, while drummers learn the fundamentals on a practice pad. If you’re willing to practice, keep time, and attend regularly, we’ll teach you the rest. Free Bagpipe & Drum Lessons Atlantic Watch Pipes & Drums offers free bagpipe and drum instruction in Red Bank, New Jersey. Our experienced members provide instruction in: * Great Highland Bagpipes * Snare Drum * Tenor Drum * Bass Drum Students of all ages are welcome, and no previous musical or pipe band experience is required. Beginners attend our weekly rehearsals, develop their skills at their own pace, and can work toward marching and performing with Atlantic Watch Pipes & Drums when they’re ready. Learn as a Family Bagpipes and drums can be a great family activity. Parents, children, spouses, and other family members are welcome to learn together. Several Atlantic Watch members already have the opportunity to rehearse and perform alongside members of their own families. Bagpipe & Drum School Programs Atlantic Watch Pipes & Drums also offers educational school visits and demonstrations throughout New Jersey. Band members introduce students to the history of the Great Highland Bagpipe and Scottish drums, their Scottish heritage, and their traditional military and ceremonial roles. Programs include live bagpipe and drum performances and can be adapted for music classes, school assemblies, cultural programs, Scottish heritage events, and other educational activities.
