2026 so far

25 August 2026

The year opened with Robert Burns Night on 17 January at the Plainfield Masonic Temple Ballroom, hosted by Paladin-Sinclair. March was the busiest stretch of the calendar: seven parades in three weeks, beginning with Shamrock by the Shore at Pier Village in Long Branch and ending at Keansburg on the 28th, with Rumson, Union County, Cranford and Keyport in between and the Red Bank Elks party on the 14th. Summer ran from the Shrewsbury Centennial Parade in May through four Memorial Day engagements, the Elk's Parade at Wildwood, the Flag Day ceremony at Oceanport, the Ocean Grove July 4th Parade, and the Ocean Township 150th anniversary parade in August. Fundraising for the 85th anniversary D-Day performance in Normandy continued through the year, including a hand-rolled cigar event with Cortez Cigars at Birdsmouth Beer in June. The year is not finished: a blood drive with Red Bank Elks Lodge #233 follows on 26 August.
