Philadelphia is the birthplace of the United States Marine Corps, and in 2025 it hosted a major celebration marking the 250th anniversary, part of the Navy and Marine Corps 250th birthday events. The band took part.
A state marker near the site records what happened there: near here stood Tun Tavern, 1693 to 1781, regarded as the traditional birthplace of the United States Marine Corps, authorized by a resolution of the Continental Congress on 10 November 1775.
